How to Improve Your Decision Making Process

Read Time: 2-mins

My issue with decisions isn't whether it's the right one or not, what really bothers me is how I long I take to make a decision.

I found this decision making framework in my notes earlier this year, but I can't figure out where I sourced it.

Here are the 4 types of decisions you may come across and how you should approach it:

Clear-cut Choice
When the answer is obvious, you can make the decision quickly and confidently.

Delegate Decision
If a decision requires more expertise or time than you have, it's best to delegate it to someone who can handle it better.

Reflection Decision
When you have time to think and all the information you need, taking some time to ponder and set a deadline can help you make a well-informed choice.

Information Dependent Decisions
If you need more information to make a decision, assign a deadline for gathering and evaluating that information.

Understanding these decision types has allowed me to approach my choices more effectively and make better decisions quickly.
